Adding UNC Directory to Outlook
click on Tools then Options and click on Mail Setup tab
click on Email Accounts.
Under the Directory section, select Add a new directory or address book option and click Next.
Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and click Next.
Enter ldap.unc.edu for the Server Name and click on More Settings click OK to the prompt.
Click on the Search tab, under the Search base, enter dc=unc,dc=edu (no spaces) and click OK then click Next and click Finish.
Close and re-open Outlook
click on “To” button to bring up address book
in address book switch Show Names From field from Global Address Book to ldap.unc.edu
- click on Advanced button and select Find
- use the dialog box that pops up to search for the person by any of the available parameters (display name, last name, etc.)

NOTE: eventually a list for recent LDAP queries will get populated and use of Find feature may become unnecessary for frequently used addresses.
