Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease Study at the General and Oral Health Center

Studies demonstrate that gum disease can induce a systemic (general) inflammatory response and is associated with cardiovascular risk factors1. There is also evidence that inflammation and heart disease are common in the chronic kidney disease population. Research is being conducted to investigate the relationship of gum disease and heart disease in the chronic kidney disease population.
