This site provides information on developmental defects of teeth based on the research by John Timothy Wright DDS, MS, and his staff. It is intended to help people affected by these conditions, oral health care providers managing these conditions, and researchers investigating the cause and treatment of developmental defects of teeth. The defects covered are:

Amelogenesis imperfectaAmelogenesis imperfecta (Ai): amelogenesis (enamel formation) imperfecta – is a relatively rare group of inherited disorders characterized by abnormal enamel formation

Dentinogenesis imperfectaDentinogenesis imperfecta (Di): represents a group of hereditary conditions that are characterized by abnormal dentin formation. These conditions can affect only the teeth or can be associated with osteogenesis imperfecta.

Tricho dento osseousTricho dento osseous: the tricho-dento-osseous syndrome (TDO) (OMiM #190320) is an autosomal dominant condition that is named for the three primarily affected tissues: hair, teeth and bone.
