Dear Friend of the UNC School of Dentistry:
Greetings from Chapel Hill, where the excitement for graduation events continues growing by the minute. This evening our school will hold its 61st commencement ceremony! We're proud of all the members of the Class of 2014, and look forward to their contributions to the dental profession.
THANK YOU to all of you who joined us for our spring events this year! April is always busy with the UNC School of Dentistry Golf Tournament, the Best of Dentistry Gala and the D.D.S. Class Reunions, and we appreciate that so many of you come back to Chapel Hill for these events. Both the golf tournament and the Best of Dentistry Weekend events raise money to benefit student scholarships, the UNC Craniofacial center and fourth-year clinic upgrades. In total, we raised approximately $23,000 to benefit these groups. Your generosity and participation mean that many groups within the school will benefit - so, again, THANK YOU.
It's likely you got to meet our new team member during Best of Dentistry Weekend, but if you didn't, it's my pleasure to share that Nicole Quallen has joined our team as our new assistant director of development and executive director of the UNCDAA. She's taking over for Sarah Huppert, who you may recall was promoted to regional director of development in late 2013. We're thrilled to have Nicole in the office and hope that many of you will get to meet her next week at the North Carolina Dental Society Annual Session!
Speaking of the NCDS Annual Session … Paul Gardner, Sarah, Nicole and I look forward to seeing many of you there next week! Please stop by our booth to say hello! We also hope you've chosen to attend the UNCDAA Breakfast at the Beach and Annual Meeting, being held on Friday, May 16. The breakfast starts a bit earlier this year - 7:30 a.m. - so that attendees can make it to CE courses on time. If you have questions about that, be sure to call Nicole at 919.537.3895!
I also want to remind you that our fiscal year closes on June 30. If you'd like to make a gift to the Dental Foundation of North Carolina to ensure you're included on the 2013-14 Honor Roll of Giving, be sure to do that soon! You can click here to give online or contact our office (919.537.3257, firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss your giving options.
As always, thank you for your interest and support! I look forward to seeing you next week!
