UNC DentistrE News
October 4, 2013
Dear Friend of the UNC School of Dentistry:
It's hard to believe it's already October, especially with the temperatures in the 80s this week here in Chapel Hill, but all other signs definitely point to the last few months of the year. Students are bustling around the school and the end of the semester is sure to be upon us soon.
As promised when I shared the exciting news about Sarah's wedding, I want to ensure that everyone has her new email address. She's reachable at email@example.com. Of course, you can always still reach her by phone at 919.537.3259.
A personnel update: the school has hired Dr. Andrea Zandona, a cariology specialist, in the Department of Operative Dentistry. She started with us on September 1 and is looking forward to helping the school update and advance its didactic and clinical teaching techniques with the latest caries diagnostic, preventive and treatment methods.
THANK YOU to those of you who were able to join us for the annual UNCDAA Alumni Day last weekend! We had a wonderful crowd and beautiful weather for everyone to enjoy prior to the game. To see the photos from that event, please visit our Facebook photo album (and be sure to like the UNCDAA and UNC School of Dentistry Facebook pages). While you're there, tag yourself and your friends in the pictures!
If you're planning to attend the ADA meeting in New Orleans, we invite you to come to the annual UNC School of Dentistry Alumni Reception at the ADA Meeting. That will be held on Saturday, November 2 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Grand Salon Section 18 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel. Be sure to come by for a drink and to say hello to Sarah Huppert and your fellow UNC alumni! (And don't forget - the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) established the annual Dr. James Crawford Memorial Lecture, this year being held on November 1 at 9 a.m. Dr. Crawford was a school faculty member for 18 years.)
As always, if you'd like to make your annual gift, set up a recurring gift or make a one-time donation to the Dental Foundation, you may do so online by clicking here or contacting our office (firstname.lastname@example.org, 919.537.3257) to discuss your giving options.
Thank you for your continued investment in and support of our school!
Tiffany N. Brannan
Director of Communications, UNC School of Dentistry
