In Memoriam

In Loving Memory of
Dr. Robert F. Wright
September 30, 1955 – April 10, 2016

Robert_Wright23It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Dr. Robert F. Wright. Dr. Wright lived and worked with passion, integrity and energy. The character of the life he lived might be summed up in a few words: he was sincere, he was kind, he was loyal. On Sunday, April 10, 2016, he silently closed the door of life and departed from us.

Dr. Wright was bright, creative and innovative in his thinking. He was always willing to share his ideas and information, and enjoyed working collaboratively with students, staff and colleagues.

He was a firm advocate of mentorship, dedicating countless hours to work with students in and out of dental school. Dr. Wright fostered an environment of learning where an individual’s abilities and interests are nurtured, encouraging growth and exploration. He had a wonderful smile, a playful sense of humor, and a gentle demeanor. He was passionately committed to patient care matters, and advised his students on the importance of the quality and level of patient care that they provided. He was a splendid person of great intellect and big heart.

As chair of the Department of Prosthodontics, and throughout his career as a prosthodontist, Dr. Wright worked with passion, integrity and drive. He gave energy, commitment and inspiration to his students, patients, staff and colleagues. By his death, the people who knew him will miss a highly intelligent, vibrant individual, with a rare friendliness and warm personality. Dr. Wright was a genuine and wonderful individual—one we will miss greatly. Our sorrow is lessened only slightly with the comforting thought that we had the privilege to know him.
