Dynamic Facial Soft Tissue Analysis System
Description/Purpose of the Study
Develop computer software that can measure how your child’s face and lips look at rest and how your child’s face and lips move during various facial movements like smiling and frowning from photographs and videos of your child’s face.

Your child may be eligible to participate if they:
Have an interest / parent willingness to participate in the study.
An ability to comprehend verbal instructions.
An age range of 5 to 21 years.
Have a non-cleft upper lip or a repaired complete unilateral or bilateral cleft lip with or without cleft palate.
Your child should not participate if they have:
A medical history of diabetes, collagen vascular disease, or systemic neurological impairment.
Mental or hearing problems to the extent that your child is unable to follow instructions or ability to perform the tests is hampered.
A diagnosis of a facial problem other than cleft of the lip and palate.
Previous facial soft-tissue surgery other than cleft lip revision surgery.
Previous lip-revision surgery within two years.
A history of bone surgery.
Previous orthognathic/reconstructive surgery.
Posterior tooth loss that results in a loss of lower anterior height and mandibular overclosure.
