The department has extensive teaching programs that include undergraduate, graduate and continuing education. Dental students learn to treat pediatric patients and engage in clinical activities during their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of dental school. The goal of these programs is to educate oral health care providers to be competent to manage the general oral health care needs of infants, children and adolescents. One of the newest programs, the Baby Oral Health Program is directed at teaching health care providers to manage infant oral health needs. Dr. Diane Dilley serves as the Undergraduate Program Director.
Dentists interested in specializing in Pediatric Dentistry can complete the intensive three year graduate education program. Details of the graduate curriculum and application instructions are available at Graduate Program.
