Diagnostic Sciences

The Division of Diagnostic Sciences focuses on oral radiology and oral pathology through a combination of basic science and general dentistry, guides the diagnosis of oral diseases and helps develop patient treatment plans.

Expert faculty lead the division in the areas of general dentistry, oral medicine, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and oral and maxillofacial radiology.

Faculty are committed to the advancement of teaching through the development of enhanced and innovative teaching methods. The research mission of the department is grounded in the basic physical, chemical, biological, epidemiological and clinical sciences. Department research is directed toward the creation of knowledge through biological and clinical investigations of the diseases of the oral and maxillofacial region, and laboratory and clinical testing of new diagnostic systems.
