Activity Description:
This course is designed for the dental clinician who desires to stay at the forefront of the latest scientific advancements, endodontic techniques and schools of thought. Discussion will include NiTi metallurgy and irrigation technologies that are cutting edge and changing endodontic therapy.

Activity Objectives:
1)Updates to Diagnosis within your practice: How much undiagnosed endodontic disease is in your practice?
2)The Science & Physics of Instrumentation: Advances in metallurgy and file engineering that address cyclic fatigue and file separation
3)Importance of Glide Path Management: The map of success to owning the canal shape.
4)Efficiency with Fewer Files: Design enhancements that deliver consistent canal shapes in less time and with fewer instruments.
5)Energized Irrigation Protocols: New technologies and techniques for removing bacteria and the smear layer.
6)Obturation: State of the art, centrally condensed gutta-percha technologies vs. single-cone techniques.

Michael W. Nimmich DMD, MS
Dr. Nimmich graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1984. He received his Master of Science in Endodontics from West Virginia University in 1998. Dr. Nimmich is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association and the America Association of Endodontists. He is the president of the South Carolina Endodontic Association and past president of the MUSC Alumni Association. Dr. Nimmich provides a unique perspective to the practice of dentistry, as he practiced as a general dentist in his home town of Summerville South Carolina for twelve years prior to the practice of endodontics in Sumter, South Carolina for the past fifteen years.

This continuing education program is presented by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and the Continuing Dental Education program. The UNC Continuing Dental Education program is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. UNC CDEs term of recognition is May 2012 through June 2015. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP at www.ada.org/cerp.

The UNC School of Dentistry designates this activity for up to 3 hours of continuing education credits.

Registration and Fees:
The registration fee includes course materials and CE credit. All registrations must be received by Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

UNC CDE recommends that you do not make air travel arrangements prior to receiving a receipt of payment or confirmation. UNC CDE is not responsible for any travel-related costs.

Cancellations and Refunds:
Since considerable advance planning is necessary for this continuing education program, a registration refund, less a $50 fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Wednesday, April 16, 2014. No refunds will be issued after Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will fully refund registration fees but is not responsible for any related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, rental car or travel agencies.
