The Program
This fast moving bottom line course includes the areas of dentistry with the most activity and change in any given year. It is easily understood and has numerous summaries that help attendees to interpret the on-going advancements in the profession. The course encourages audience participation, questions and answers and is presented in an enjoyable and humorous manner.

Educational Objectives and Topics
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

2. Describe new techniques for attaining optimal results in esthetic dentistry
3. Relate the keys to obtaining excellent clinical results in conservative adhesive and restorative dentistry

The Speaker

Dr. Gordon Christensen, DDS, MSD, PhD is Founder and Director of Practical Clinical Courses (PCC)in Utah, an international continuing education organization providing courses and videos for all dental professionals. Dr. Christensen has presented over 45,000 hours of continuing education throughout the world and has published many articles and books. Gordon and Dr. Rella Christensen are co-founders of the non-profit Gordon J. Christensen CLINICIANS REPORT(previously CRA), which Rella directed for many years. Since 1976, they have conducted research in all areas of dentistry and published the findings to the profession in the well known CRA Newsletter now called CLINICIANS REPORT. Gordons degrees include: DDS, University of Southern California; MSD, University of Washington; PhD, University of Denver; an Honorary Doctor of Science from Utah State University, and an honorary Doctor of Dental Education and Research from Utah Valley University. Early in his career, Gordon helped initiate the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado Dental Schools and taught at the University of Washington. Gordon is a practicing prosthodontist in Provo, Utah.

The Thomas P. Hinman Distinguished Lecture
The Department of Operative Dentistry is proud to present The Tenth Annual Thomas P. Hinman Distinguished Lecture. Both the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society and Brasseler, USA have magnanimously agreed to serve as co-sponsors for this event. The Hinman Lecture is part of a broader initiative funded by the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society to promote high quality continuing education in dentistry. Since its charter in 1937, the Hinman Dental Society has been known for its ongoing commitment to excellence in continuing education. Their support also endows a fund to support CE "scholarships" for dental students. This collaborative effort to promote high quality CE has been coordinated among the Department of Operative Dentistry, the School of Dentistry and the Hinman Dental Society.

Time & Location
The program will be held at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education. Registration will begin at 8:30 am. The program will be held from 9:00 am  4:00 pm. The Friday Center is located on Friday Center Drive just off Highway 54 on the east side of Chapel Hill. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided with your paid registration.

Registration Fee and Credit
The registration fee is $295 for dentists and $165 for team members. UNC Continuing Dental Education designates this activity for up to 6 hours of CDE Credit. The registration fee includes course materials, CE credit and all meals listed in the agenda. All registrations must be received by Wednesday, September 10, 2014. UNC CDE recommends that you do not make air travel arrangements prior to receiving a receipt of payment or confirmation. UNC CDE is not responsible for any travel-related costs.

Refund Policy
A registration refund, less a $50 fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Wednesday, September 10, 2014. No refunds will be issued after Wednesday, September 10, 2014. The UNC School of Dentistry Continuing Dental Education Program cannot be responsible for the refund of any part of the registration fee as a result of emergencies, unforeseen circumstances, or events beyond its control after the cancellation date.
