Dr. Glenn Minsley is Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the UNC School of Dentistry. He received his DMD from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine. Following his general practice residency, he earned his certificate in general prosthodontics in 1981 and his certificate in maxillofacial prosthetics in 1982 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Minsley is Director of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Division at UNC. Dr. Minsley is also Chief of the Division of Maxillofacial Prosthetic and Department of Hospital Dentistry at UNC Hospitals. He has been a member of UNC's Dental Implant Team Program since 1986, and has been Preceptor for the Cancer Education Program at UNC since 1985.
In 2007 he received the Richard F. Hunt Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Minsley's major research interests have involved airflow pressures and respiratory volumes following surgery, and effects of bone irradiation on the osseointegration of titanium dental implants. He was the principal investigator of an NIH grant entitled "Radiation Effects on Titanium Implant Ossesintegration." He was also a co-principal investigator in an FDA Stage III IDE study on "Titanium Craniofacial Implants" sponsored by Nobelpharma.
