UNC DentistrE News
November 2, 2011
Dear Friend of the UNC School of Dentistry:
Homecoming and Halloween are now behind us, and the year will only seem to pass more quickly from here! It's hard to believe that there are only 51 shopping days left until Christmas morning. For our students, though, winter break still feels distant as they're counting down to the end of classes in mid-December when they'll take final exams before heading home to enjoy the holidays.
With final exams just over a month away, our school is bustling with students studying and patients receiving treatment. Yes, it's business as usual here at the UNC School of Dentistry.
In the Office of Advancement, we're beginning to work on many of the 2012 events that you've already heard some about. We hope that you will come home to Chapel Hill for the School of Dentistry Golf Tournament on April 13 and the Best of Dentistry Weekend on April 27-28! Look for more information about these events in the coming months.
A special thank you to those 100-plus alumni and friends who joined us on Saturday for the UNC Homecoming football game and our Alumni Barbeque and Football Party! We hope everyone enjoyed the food, the opportunity to meet Dean Jane Weintraub, the brief tour of the new Dental Sciences Building, and, of course, the resounding 49-24 Tar Heel victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
We also want to thank all our generous donors, who were recognized in the 2010-11 Honor Roll of Giving in the Fall issue of the North Carolina Dental Review. In case you missed the listing in the magazine, we've also uploaded the list to the Dental Foundation of North Carolina section of the school's website. To see the online version, click here.
Be sure to stay in touch by logging onto Facebook and “liking” our Facebook pages so you can see all our updates! The UNCDAA, the School of Dentistry and the Dental Hygiene Alumni Association all have Facebook pages where we post school news and events, dental-focused volunteer opportunities, and upcoming CE classes. It’s a great way to learn about what’s going on here in Chapel Hill!
If you have any questions or comments, or if you'd like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the School of Dentistry, call our office at 919.966.4563 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to work with you in the exciting times ahead!
