UNC DentistrE News

August 11, 2014

Dear Friend of the UNC School of Dentistry:

The excitement buzzing around the school and the University at large is palpable. It’s official: students come back to Chapel Hill this month. More exciting still is that we welcome our new students this week, and our returning students within the next 10 days or so. I can’t wait to share photos from orientation and, of course, all the accomplishments to come over the coming year.

It wouldn’t really be a DentistrE-News if I didn’t take the opportunity to remind you to mark your calendars for some of our upcoming events. Mark these dates down so you’re sure to participate:

If you happen to be traveling to Buenos Aires in early October – or if you’re just looking for an excuse to make the trip – then you should check out a symposium being moderated by Dr. William Maixner, director of our Center for Pain Research and Innovation. On Sunday, October 5, he’ll oversee a full-day symposium entitled, “Complex Persistent Pain Conditions: Common and Unique Pathways of Vulnerability.” If you’re interested in attending, you can register here: https://apps.research.unc.edu//events/index.cfm?event=events.eventDetails&event_key=DDA015131992B61F3933594BF3992B944CF4A2E4.

Don’t forget: If you want to stay in touch with the school and our alumni groups between these emails, be sure to connect with us on Facebook and Twitter! You can like the School of Dentistry, UNCDAA and UNC Dental Hygiene Alumni Association on Facebook, and follow the school on Twitter at @UNCDentistry.

Thank you for your continued investment in and support of our school!

Best regards,

Tiffany N. Brannan
