• UNCDAA Scholarships - Each year the UNCDAA awards several scholarships to third-year dental students. All students are encouraged to apply and the finalists are interviewed by the UNCDAA scholarship committee members.

• Short-Term Research Fellowships - Periodically, the UNCDAA supports several dental students with a significant grant to support their research efforts.
  
  
• Spurgeon Table Clinic Awards - Each year the UNCDAA provide monetary awards for student table clinic presentations.
  
  
• Travel Grants for AADR - The UNCDAA helps support student travel to present papers/table clinics at the American Association of Dental Research meeting.
  
  
• Dental Research and Review Day - The UNCDAA provides financial support to this event which provides an entire day devoted to research reports by both faculty and students. Table clinic awards are provided to the students by the UNCDAA.
  
  
• Student Lobby Day Travel Support - Each year, dental students attend a national lobby day in Washington, D.C. to learn about current legislative issues and agendas. The UNCDAA helps support this travel.
  
  
• NC Legislative Day - Each year a group of dental students spend the day at the NC legislature, meeting with key legislators. They learn about what issues there affect dentistry and provide feedback to the legislators about their perspectives. We help support this legislative day.
  
  
• Graduating Class Luncheon - The UNCDAA sponsors a graduation luncheon to recognize the students’ accomplishments and encourage them to be active in organized dentistry, the school, DFNC, and the UNCDAA.
  
  
• Gifts for Incoming and Graduating Students - The UNCDAA provides gifts for incoming and graduating students, encouraging them to be part of organized dentistry and the UNCDAA.
  
  
• NCDA Student Mentor Reception - The UNCDAA and DFNC both provide major support to the NCDS mentor program reception held during the NCDS annual meeting. Typically, we have 60-100 students attend the reception and have the opportunity to meet with their NCDS mentors as well as NCDS and school officials.
