Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program
Curriculum - Hospital Training
An important dimension of the clinical experience is received through hospital appointments and admitting privileges at UNC Hospitals, which is adjacent to the School of Dentistry. The Department of Pediatric Dentistry participates as a team member in evaluation and treatment at UNC's Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning and at UNC's Craniofacial Center.
Education and experience in sedation and general anesthesia are provided through classes and seminars, plus clinical training in a one-month rotation at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. Physical diagnosis, pediatric medicine and acute care are taught through a one month clerkship with the Department of Pediatrics at the UNC-CH School of Medicine.
