Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program


Curriculum - Clinical Training


The clinical aspect of the program includes experience in:

  1. Restorative dentistry
  2. Interceptive, preventive and limited treatment orthodontics
  3. Dentistry for patients with disabilities
  4. Dental and craniofacial anomalies
  5. Genetic abnormalities
  6. Behavior management
  7. Medically compromised patients
  8. Trauma management
  9. Hospital dentistry

During the first two years, clinical experience is obtained in facilities located at the School of Dentistry and the dental clinic at UNC Hospitals. During the second and third years clinical training occurs in the hospitals, the Durham County Health Department (Durham, NC), the Alamance County Health Department (Burlington, NC), the Gateway Educational Center (Greensboro, NC) and the IHS Cherokee Indian Hospital (Cherokee, NC).
