Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Graduate Program


Dr. Ricardo Padilla, Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Graduate Program DirectorThe Department of Diagnostic Sciences, Oral Pathology Section, at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill offers a three-year postdoctoral program leading to a Master of Science degree conferred by the Graduate School of the University. The program prepares qualified oral and maxillofacial pathology specialists for positions of responsibility in institutions of dental higher education, research, or in the oral pathology private practice setting. Participants gain experience in oral and maxillofacial pathology practice, surgical pathology, clinical management of patients with disorders of the head and neck, pathology laboratory management and teaching and research skills for enhancement of an academic career. Upon completion of the necessary course and rotation requirements, each student is eligible for fellowship in the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
